VLE measurement of binary systems containing imidazolium ionic liquids and water or ethanol

چکیده

Experimental VLE data for binary systems of ethanol or water with three 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids (ILs) containing different anions were measured at normal pressure using the Siwoloboff procedure. ILs selected in this study those that appear to be suitable ethanol−water mixture separation by extractive distillation. Measured vapor–liquid equilibria described extended Raoult's law components activity coefficients calculated NRTL equation. Detailed analysis is presented form equilibrium diagrams, variation composition and thermodynamic consistency tests. t – x within a wider range compositions compared found literature. Boiling point temperature measurement mixtures (adapted procedure) provided comparable results obtained applying conventional methods estimation (circulation method, ebulliometric measurement, etc.). Reliability experimental adapted procedure high ILs’ content (high temperature) affected accuracy measurement. However, trend these useful description concentration regions where usually only coarse extrapolation applied. wide (IL more than 70 mole%) seem ternary equipment simulations, e.g. distillation columns.

Imidazolium ionic liquids containing selenium: synthesis and antimicrobial activity.

The synthesis and antimicrobial profile of imidazolium ionic liquids containing selenium are described herein. Minimum inhibitory concentration revealed that these compounds are especially active against algae, and their activity is modulated by substituents attached to the selenium moiety as well as by the counterion.

Photo-degradation of Imidazolium Ionic Liquids

Degradation of imidazolium ionic liquid, [bmim][TFSA] and iodide solution of [bmim][TFSA] by UV-laser irradiation has been studied through ground state absorption and transient absorption spectroscopy. We found that excited state [bmim] undergoes degradation efficiently. Introduction Room-temperature ionic liquids are receiving considerable attention because of their remarkable properties, such...
